A professional license is available to legal entities, including companies and organizations (both for profit and non-profit). The license allows for use by a single individual within that organization and can be transferred from one developer to another (see also How many licenses do I need to purchase? in the FAQ).
If you want to purchase a license, and you are the only person planning to use that license, then the personal license is for you. Personal licenses are non-transferable.

A license entitles you to free updates, including bug fixes and new features for up to one year after the original purchase. After one year, you are no longer entitled to updates, but you may continue to use the product. To receive an additional year of updates, you'll need to renew your license. A license renewal is 50% the cost of a new license.
You will receive a renewal notification email when your license is about to expire. The renewal notification contains a purchase link that allows you to take advantage of the renewal discount of 50%. There's a grace period of 15 days, after which the link and the renewal discount offer will expire. Contact us if you haven't received a notification email.
You can also choose to automatically renew your license. The auto-renew option can be enabled and disabled at any time. See also the Software Buyers FAQ.
As a licensed Silverlight Spy user you can upgrade to XAML Spy. If your license has not expired, you can use your Silverlight Spy license key in XAML Spy and XAML Spy will work as a full version. A license has expired when its issue date is more than year before the XAML Spy release date.
If your Silverlight Spy license has expired, contact us for an upgrade discount. Please include the reference number of the original purchase in your message.
Not For Resale (NFR) licenses of XAML Spy are available to Microsoft MVPs, regional directors and other community leaders.
