First Floor Software is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the July 2015 Update of XAML Spy (version 2.8.0). This version adds full support for Windows 10 Universal apps (UWP) that are created with the RTM version of the Windows 10 SDK. Universal apps can run on any Windows device, including phone, tablet, laptop, Xbox, etc.
By adding support for Windows 10 Universal apps, XAML Spy now supports a whopping total of 13(!) different XAML platforms and versions; sl3, sl4, sl5, wp71, wp8, wp81, wpa81, win8, win81, uwp10, wpf4, wpf45, and wpf46. See the overview of supported platforms to learn more.
Visual Studio
Visual Studio 2015 was released on July 20, 2015 and includes many new features and updates. XAML Spy provides deep integration with Visual Studio 2015, and enables easy access to spying any XAML app within Visual Studio. Next to support for Visual Studio 2015, XAML Spy fully supports Visual Studio 2012 and 2013.
Windows 10 Preview
If you are still building UWP apps with the Windows 10 Preview SDK and Visual Studio 2015 RC, you need to stick with the previous release of XAML Spy (May 2015 Update, version 2.7.1). The XAML Spy July 2015 Update works with the RTM release of the Windows 10 SDK exclusively, there is no support for the Windows 10 Preview SDK.
Other changes
This updates also addresses an issue with WPF apps targetting .NET 4.6. See the release notes for more details.
